Santhosh Tuppad got his introduction to uTest in 2009 from one of the most respected thought leaders in the business. But where did he get his introduction to the field of software testing? Well, let’s just say it came from another highly influential source.

He writes: “After my graduation I was asking; what’s next?” I wasn’t getting the job that I wanted (as a programmer) and that led to a little frustration. Around that time, my girlfriend had decided to become a tester and had registered as a participant in a training program. I thought of it as the best way to spend more time with her and I too registered for it. That’s where I got introduced to Pradeep Soundararajan (a fellow uTester) who is my coach.”

After his initiation to the basic skills, approaches and techniques of software testing, Santhosh was ready join his coach as a member of our global community – where he would make an immediate impact. Quickly catching the eye of uTest’s project managers through his Bug Battle performance (and his high bug approval rate) Santhosh has since been invited to a number of private releases where he earns significant money in his spare time testing some of the latest web and desktop applications.

“Anyone can have success in the uTest platform,” he said. “But you have to be willing to learn and practice new skills. If you do that, the money will follow!”

In their own words...

On reasons for signing up:
I signed up to uTest as way to earn some money in between jobs, and to get exposure to new applications. I’ve gained more experience through uTest than I ever imagined.”

On the uTest community:
It’s been fun interacting with other testers from around the globe. The uTest Forums turned out to be a great way to expand to my network.”

On his spare time:
I enjoy reading, blogging and flash games. Lately I’ve been developing command line games and writing scripts that do some pretty funny things (and scare my girlfriend at times).” - Santhosh Tuppad Bangalore, Karnataka
