Fusionsoft would first leverage uTest’s exploratory testing service, which is designed to catch bugs and issues that are regularly missed by automation, test scripts and in-house teams. With 30,000+ testers from 165 countries to choose from, Ferguson had no problems finding testers with necessary talent and experience for the assignment.
Once testers had become used to the site (and logged their bugs and feedback in the online platform) they were then asked to perform more traditional functional testing. This included verifying the site’s essential features across multiple browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari) and operating systems (Windows and Mac).

With four weeks to go before the product’s official release date, uTest had already conducted three in-depth test cycles with the Fusionsoft team, helping them to uncover issues with functionality and workflow - greatly improving time to market.
“Our test cycles were completed very quickly,” said Ferguson. “The user’s experience with the website had to be faultless and uTest helped us get there without any wasted time or effort.”
uTest was also able to save them a considerable amount of money. Like many uTest customers, Fusionsoft decided to run a uTest “pilot” – three test cycles that can be used at any time within six months – with no hidden fees, hassles or confusing contracts to sign.
In the future, as Fusionsoft ventures into mobile applications, they expect to rely heavily on the uTest community to complement their in-house testing.
