uTest Finds More Than 10,000 Bugs
Software Testing Marketplace Surpasses 10,000th Bug Reported Milestone in Less Than Six Months
uTest, the world's largest software testing marketplace, announced today that it recently surpassed its 10,000th bug reported. Making this milestone even more significant is that it was reached less than six months from the company’s August 19, 2008 general availability launch.
Fast Facts:
- Since uTest's public launch in August, bugs were discovered at a rate of 2.6 per hour, or one bug every 23 minutes and seven seconds.
- The uTest community finds and reports an average of 55 bugs per software release.
- These bugs were found in web applications, mobile applications, and desktop applications, and for a wide variety of companies - from small, agile start-ups to publicly traded global enterprises.
- uTest's community of software testers grew by more than 50 percent between August 2008 and January 2009, bringing the total to more than 13,000 testers in 149 countries worldwide.
- The company doubled both the number of bugs reported and the number of software releases in Q4 2008, compared with Q3.
- uTest also doubled its number of customers and revenue in Q4, compared with Q3.
"The 10,000 bug milestone demonstrates just how rapidly uTest is growing," said uTest’s CEO, Doron Reuveni. "The reason we've been able to track down so many bugs in such a short time is because our global community of professional testers works around the clock, which enables our customers to launch higher quality applications and get their software to market faster."
Though not counted towards the 10,000 bug milestone, in November 2008, uTest also held its first ever Bug Battle contest, a week-long "Battle of the Browsers" in which 672 bugs were found in three top web browsers - Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.1 beta, and Google Chrome.
Beginning February 11, uTest will hold its 1st Quarter Bug Battle to test the three most popular social networking sites - Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace. Details will be announced at http://www.utest.com/bug_battle.
