uTest Announces 2009 “uTester of the Year” Awards
Crowdsourced Testing Leader Launches Program To Recognize Top Performing uTesters
uTest, the world’s largest software testing marketplace, today announced the results of its 2009 “uTester of the Year Awards” – a program that recognizes consistently outstanding performance within its testing community. The winners were selected from more than 22,000 professional testers from 162 countries around the world. The winners were selected by the uTest community management and project management teams, and were based upon testers’ performance across several hundred test cycles for web, desktop and mobile applications. Brian Rock was named the overall uTester of the Year. Brian brings more than ten years of software engineering and leadership experience to the uTest community. After obtaining his Master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Texas, Brian served as Sgt. for Combat Arms Forward Recon Team in the U.S Army. He joined uTest in early 2009 and, with his strong testing background, Brian has earned MVT (Most Valuable Tester) bonuses on multiple test cycles and also wrote a popular uTest guest blog post, “Software Testers: The Eyes of the Battlefield.” “These winners have consistently demonstrated outstanding testing skills, attention to detail, and the work ethic that has made uTest such a popular choice for hundreds of software companies,” said Matt Johnston, uTest VP of Marketing & Community. “These testers have earned significant money as a result of their involvement with uTest, as well as a prestigious honor among the top testers of our entire uTest community. We sincerely congratulate and thank them.” The complete list of 2009 uTester of the Year Awards winners is as follows: Honorable Mentions: April Xia (China), Atul Angra (India), Bernard Lelchuk (Israel), Brad Sellick (Canada), Dom Wolf (UK), Eman Nofal (USA), Eureka Lopes (USA), Jet Li (China), Omer Perry (Israel), Ranchhod Prajapati (India), Sweety Rumao (USA), Viacheslav Erofeev (Russia).
“Working with uTest challenges me to learn new applications and to solve new testing problems on different products every week,” said Brian Rock. “This keeps things fresh and exciting, and opens my eyes to see systems holistically and keep my defect localization skills sharp. This is what I enjoy most about working with uTest, and I am honored to be among this elite group of testers.”
