Blog Help

How do I submit a blog post?

Thanks for your interest in contributing to the uTest Community! We would love to have you contribute to our Blog. Head over to our Guest Blog Submission Form, be sure to read our guidelines, and send over your post. CM’s Ryan Arsenault will be in touch with all authors of submissions.

I have a published blog post that I’d like to share. Can I do that?

Of course. Use the same Guest Blog Submission Form and be sure to indicate somewhere in the document that the post was previously published, along with a link to the site.

How do I comment on a blog post?

You must have a uTest account and be signed in to the site in order to comment on a blog post. Click “Sign In” at the top right corner of the page. After signing in, you can comment on any blog post by scrolling to the bottom of the post page.

How do I share a blog post?

There are share links at the bottom of every blog post. Click the icon of your preferred social media platform to share the post with your followers.

uTest University Help

How do I find a course?

You can search all courses, or search by category such as Mobile Testing, Desktop/Web Testing, or Video courses. You can also type keywords into the search box on the main page to find related courses from all categories.

How do I submit a course idea?

You can email the uTest University team at or submit a suggestion here.

How do I add a course to my to-do list?

Look for the task box on the right column of the course you want to save. Check “Add this course to your to-do list” and hit the save button. The course will be saved in your to-do list, which can be found on your uTest University dashboard.

How do I follow a course track?

From the Course Tracks page, choose the course track you wish to follow. Click the black arrow to the right of the completion bar to show the detailed course list. Click “Add to to-do list” to add those courses to your to-do list. As you complete each course, check “Mark this course as completed” in the task box on the right column of the course you just completed.

The completion bar on the Course Tracks page will show how many courses you have completed in the track, e.g., 2/16 means you have completed 2 of the 16 courses in the track.

How do I author a course?

We are always looking for subject matter experts who want to author a course. Contact the uTest University team at with your course idea and an outline or course summary.

Tool Reviews Help

How do I search for a tool?

Type the tool name or keyword into the search box on the Tool Reviews page or search by popular tags right below the Search Box.

How do I submit a tool review?

You can submit a tool for review using the form found on this page. You will need the following required information:

  • Your name
  • Your email
  • Tool name
  • Tool website URL
  • Suggested tags
  • Tool logo
  • Tool icon
  • Tool summary
  • Full tool description
  • At least one screenshot

How do I rate and review an existing tool?

You must have a uTest account and be signed in to the site in order to rate and review tools. From any page, click "Sign In" at the top right corner of the page.

Navigate to the tool’s page in the Tool Reviews section. (For example, the BlazeMeter page .) You will see "Write Your Review" in the left column. Choose your rating and write your comments in the white box. Click "Submit Review" when done.

Events Help

How do I submit an event?

You can submit an event by navigating to the Submit an Event page. You will need the following required information:

  • Your name
  • Your email
  • Event title
  • Start date
  • Start time
  • End date
  • End time
  • Event description

Membership Help

How do I become eligible for paid projects?

You must have an Expanded profile in order to qualify for paid projects. Read this University course on how to expand your profile, then get acquainted with getting started with uTest.

I have expanded my profile. How soon can I get paid projects?

Invitations to paid projects are on a supply and demand basis. It helps to keep your profile as up to date as possible and to check out the upcoming opportunities forum. For more information on getting test cycle invitations, visit our Paid Project Essentials here.

Where can I find paid projects?

The first step is to make sure you have an Expanded profile. If you have an Expanded profile and are signed in to the site, click "Paid Projects" to be connected to the Platform.

How do I unsubscribe from uTest emails?

There are different types of emails that you may receive from uTest: Weekly Digest, Monthly Newsletter, and Platform emails. You may opt out of the first two by clicking on the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of each email, keeping in mind that it may take up to 48 hours to fully process. As for Platform emails, you can only adjust the frequency of chat emails through the Settings section of your profile (all other Platform emails, including project invitations and report approval status updates cannot be unsubscribed from).

How do I deactivate my account?

We're sorry to see you go! If you have a uTest profile, you can contact us to delete your account. If you have an Expanded profile, you can delete your account using these instructions.
